Dreamcatcher - Dreamcatcher
After 10 years of writing music for television, Dreamcatcher was David’s first album. These were early days of combining sampled vocals with danceable rhythms, and this album holds up as one of the best of its kind, described by listeners as "global music, beautiful ethnic sounds and voices, mixed with cool western beats and textures". Sheila Chandra gave rare permission to use her sampled voice in 'Ice', and Wasis Diop provided the male vocal in the duet, 'Falling with You'.
'In an Ocean of Joy' was used in a TV ad for Covent Garden Soup, and 'This is The Time' was adapted as the theme tune for a programme about hiking through Britain's countryside.
A beautiful album - music to chill out to…

Described as mischievous pop with a jazzy, latin flavour, after 3 months on UK radio, 'Would You…?' moved over to tv. It featured during news reports, as the background to comedy sketches, commercials, and in clubs any time the DJ wanted to raise the temperature! The album spawned more hit singles in Eastern Europe and Russia and "Straight...to Number One" was chosen by Apple to launch the iTunes site in the USA, where every track on the album has been used in films, television and/or commercials.
What... Is In Between? - Dreamcatcher
This second album released a decade after Dreamcatcher's debut, began as a Womad show before mutating into a classy soundscape haunted by the vocals of Mieko Shimizu and Benjamin Zephaniah. Shape-shifting between continents - Tango passion, Japanese raps - it grows more seductive as it progresses…
